This model only produced in April and May of 1972, appearing first in the Seiko Sales newsletter from December of that year, the 6146-8050 was available in four different dial colours – white, blue, graduated green and graduated brown. The model is clearly influenced by the 6186 VFA, with a very similar (though less substantial) case, and unmissable three dimensional hour indices that necessitate short minute and second hands.
The model doesn’t appear in any of the subsequent semi-annual catalogues, so presumably was only on sale for a short period. In the newsletter all examples are shown on a bracelet, and with faceted crystals. Whether they were all sold with these features is not known – currently we only have the single issue of Seiko Sales to go on.
